The Youngest known Emir in Borno state, the Shehu of Bama showed exemplary conduct this weekend when he mobilized his subjects and servants and engaged them in sanitation work in and around the town.

Under his watchful supervision he made sure that untidy grasses were cut and that drainages were cleaned.

He also joined them to manually trim the grasses surrounding his palace, something can be better imagined than seen when a country like Nigeria is concerned.

Sanitation exercise is mandatory in Bama town and his extraordinary sense of leadership would foster the tradition of cleaning our environment, one of the indigenes said.

Bama is a town located about 60Km away from Maiduguri that Borno state capital. As at 2006, the National Census Commission put the population of Bama at well above 250,000 people.
Bama in the past, has a fair share of insurgency incursions from the dreaded Bokoharam group.
