President Muhammadu Buhari has said that the death of one of his closest allies, Ismaila Isa Funtua, has created a huge gap. Following the announcement of his death on Monday from after a short ill for less than two hours, President Buhari has already miss his demise.
The president identified him as one the influential people that stood by him during his political journey. He said Futua always help him when he wanted to make key decisions.
According to a statement by the spokesperson to the President, Garba Shehu, it stated that President Muhammadu Buhari received with deep sadness on Monday evening information on passing of his longtime friend and associate, Malam Isma’ila Isa Funtua.
Malam Funtua was the Life Patron of International Press Institute and Newspapers Proprietors Association of Nigeria.
The President condoled with family members, government and people of Katsina State, and all associates of the former President of NPAN, on the great loss. Buhari described him as a greatly admired and respected man.
Buhari, however believed that the demise of the publisher would create a huge gap as Funtua consistently stood by him during his political journey.
