It was today reported that President Buhari, promised the Cameroonian Government that the Nigerian government will support them to stop the Ambazonia agitators and to make sure that Cameroon remains an indivisible country.
According to Daily Post report, President Buhari made this disclosure in a statement that was released by Femi Adesina. The President made this known while receiving Mr. Felix Mbayu, a special Envoy from the Cameroonian President, Paul Biya.
While speaking, President Buhari stated that Nigeria and Cameroon share historical ties and common borders, stating it clearly that it's necessary for the two countries to help each other and care for each other.
Going forward, President Buhari made it known that Cameroon helped Nigeria during the period of civil war.
He said: "......our relationship with Cameroon had been very clear since I was serving in the military. The country offered us needed support during civil war.....we will be steadfast in our support for you..."
It should be recalled that the Ambazonia agitators in the English speaking part of North West and South West Cameroon have been agitating to be a separate country.
That is a good one from the Nigerian government. It is said that we should always remember someone who helped us when we are in need. I think that is what the Nigerian government is trying to do now. The Cameroonian government helped the Nigerian government during the civil war, so now is the time for the Nigerian government to help them back.
