Abure Regains Position As LP Chairman
The Labour Party, LP, has announced the resumption of office of its embattled national chairman, Barrister Julius Abure.
Also, the party said that other national officers of the party have fully assumed their constitutional responsibilities.

The announcement was contained in a statement issued on Thursday following a press conference held at the party’s national secretariat in Abuja.
Recall that the Labour Party had been enmeshed in a leadership tussle, with Lamidi Apapa and Abure fighting over the position of the national chairman.
This followed an ex parte order by the Federal Capital Territory High Court restraining Abure from acting as the chairman of the party.
Adeleke Appoints New Iyaloja General
Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has appointed Chief Oyebode Aderonke Mary as the new Iyaloja General (head of market women) of Osogbo.
This is according to a statement signed by his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, and made available to DAILY POST on Thursday in Osogbo.

Approving her appointment, Governor Adeleke described the new Iyaloja General as “a strong leader of businesswomen in Osun State” who has contributed immensely to the growth and development of commerce.
“We approve her appointment with all sense of responsibility and confidence in her ability to pilot the affairs of women in commerce for the collective prosperity of Osun State,” the governor stated.
The statement also added that the inauguration of the new Iyaloja General will take place next week.

The member representing District 139 in the Texas House of Representatives, Jarvis Johnson, has urged the United States Congress to compel the Federal Government to immediately release the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu.

FG rolls out programme for Tinubu, Shettima swearing-in
The programme of events for the inauguration of President-Elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, as the 16th President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria on May 29, has been released by the Federal Government.
The event, expected to be graced by top dignitaries, foreign Leaders, and Heads of Govts, will be celebrating the 7th consecutive democratic transition of power since the start of democracy in the country.

Secretary to the Government of the Federation and Chairman of Presidential Transition Council, Mr Boss Mustapha, while unveiling the programme at a world press conference in Abuja on Thursday, said arrangements put in place will see to a smooth transition of power on May 29.
Mustapha also assured citizens that nothing will stop the inauguration from holding on May 29th, adding that the litigation in court won’t be a cause for the event not to hold. He added that the inauguration is an opportunity for citizens to experience the togetherness, unity, peace, and progress of Nigeria.
