According to the report on Vanguard, Southeast Governors had their security meeting yesterday at Enugu State, but there was no representative of Anambra State in the meeting. Neither Governor Willy Obiano of Anambra State nor his deputy, Nkem Okeke, was present at the meeting despite the security challenges in the state.

Vanguard revealed that in recent times, Governor Obiano has not been attending official meetings involving the Southern Governors of the Southeast Governors Forum, and other important official meetings in the region.
Why Obiano Was Absent Is Disturbing
It is really disturbing as what could be the reason Obiano has in recent time, stopped attending official meetings of the Southern or Southeast Governors forum.
Since yesterday was not the first time he missed the official meetings of the Southeast/Southern Governors forum, I believe that it's not ordinary, something must be wrong somewhere. There must be reasons for his absence from meetings.

If there was no reason for his absence, at least he would have always sent his representatives to the meeting, should he be indisposed
Even Vanguard revealed that Bianca Ojukwu had in a message she made public on Monday, pleaded with Governor Obiano to attend Tuesday’s (yesterday's) meeting, but Obiano later turned down the message.

Even Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State who had for some time maintained absence was at the meeting, together with Governor Dave Umahi of Ebonyi State who was absent at the last Southern Governors meeting in Enugu were both in attendance.

Then why would Obiano decide to continue to maintain absence in such crucial meetings? He didn't even consider the fact that his State (Anambra) is currently under fire, because of serious security challenges in the place.

Even if his reason is politically motivated; I think he should have considered that the meeting was not a political party meeting, it was for the security welfare of his region. Even if he was offended by anybody, I think he should consider the security of lives in the region as enough reason for him to join hands together with his colleagues to sort the best solution of insecurity in the region.

If he has grudges with his colleagues, will he continue in his grudges while his citizens suffer, without doing the necessary things?
I think there are levels we should not allow politics to take; there are levels we should not allow grudges or annoyance to take. When it comes to the lives of the citizens, I think things like politics and grudges should always be kept aside.
What's your view on this?
What do you think may be the reason Obiano has continued to be absent in official meetings of the Southeast Governors forum?
