It is no longer that the ruling All Progressives Congress held its state congresses across the country on Saturday.
The state congresses were marred by parallel congresses that were held in some states which produced two factional chairmen.

The crisis rocking the ruling party came to the fore when factional groups in some states went ahead to hold parallel congresses and elected their state chairmen and other executives.
Some political players in the country have kicked against the development and called on the leadership of the ruling party to intervene and resolve the crisis rocking the party.

In a report by This Day Newspaper, the main opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has also condemned the development and mocked the ruling party over its inability to conduct successful congresses in many states.
There are two major things the main opposition party mentioned as it chided the ruling party over the parallel congresses in some states.

Firstly, the Peoples Democratic Party noted that the inability of the All Progressives Congress to conduct a successful and crisis-free congress in many states explained why the ruling party has not been able to manage Nigeria effectively. PDP alleged that it is greed for power that caused the parallel congresses in many states.
Secondly, the Peoples Democratic Party alleged that the lack of internal cohesion in the All Progressives Congress may implode the ruling party very soon after the outcome of the state congresses proved all is not well with the party.

The main opposition party explained that the APC that has the president of the country should have been able to conduct itself and organize crisis-free congresses across the State.
