Lockdown: COVID-19 has turned the world to prison, Ogun monarch laments

Sodiq Ojuroungbe

The Osile of Oke-Ona, Oba Dr. Adedapo Tejuoso has lamented that the outbreak of the pandemic COVID-19 has turned the world to prison.

The first class monarch maintained that everyone has now become a prisoner because of the restriction that is going around the world to curb the spread of the deadly disease.

The Osile described the deadly virus as the biggest prison ever in the world.

He said this while distributing some food items which include 20 bags of rice ; 20 bags of garri ; 14 bags of beans, 40 packs of noodles, 250 face masks, among to the people of Oke-Ona and the three other sections in Egbaland.

The monarch insisted that the lockdown has shown that every Nigerian is living in a prison.

He said, "The biggest prison ever has been open due to this COVID-19 that has taken over the world.

"The world has become a prison and everybody is on lockdown.

"Everybody is in COVID-19 prison, but we are still thanking God."

Oba Tejuoso however attributed the cause of the pandemic to disobedience to God.

According to him, our sins are responsible for this pandemic that has taken over the world, but God is making jest of us now that he has warned us, but we did not listen.

He also urged the government to declare a National Day so as to use spiritual prayers to put an end to the pandemic.

He added, "there is a need for our leaders to call us together as a nation.

"They should fix a day where we will worship, seek for forgiveness and plead to him on our different religious way.

"I am sure God will listen to us because it was disobedience that lead us to where we are today."
