The Commandant General, NSCDC, Ahmed Audi, had reportedly disclosed that Issues of insecurity bedeviling the country, which include terrorism, banditry, kidnapping, insurgency, cultism, armed robbery an so on will surely be surmounted because of Buhari's political will, to defeat them.
He made this statement during Nigerian's 61st independence anniversary celebration on Friday, 1st October, 2021, while he was advocating for a renewed mindset and provision of actionable intelligence to keep Nigeria safe, as well as the need for continued tolerance of each other’s differences and mutual co-existence among Nigerians.
According to him, "tolerance and mutual co-existence among the citizens of Nigeria, would help them live peaceful, and as well make them known as people who are united in diversity and resilient in the face of daunting challenges to our continued survival as one unified entity."
He added that, Nigerians should not forget their various shortcomings which are surmountable if only they imbibe new orientations to promote the interest of Nigeria, by putting the nation first in all they do. “There could be hitches here and there, but we shall get it right soon. We should not allow this seemingly overwhelming security challenges deter us from coming together and pulling through as a great nation. It's good we reflect more on the gains and achievements of our unity and togetherness in the last 61 years," he said.
Ahmed Audi further petitioned all Nigerians to desist from any form of ethnic discrimination, political idiosyncrasy, religious chauvinism, superfluous agitation, and all other vices affecting our growth and development.
He however, appealed to all citizens to always put Nigeria in their prayers, be more nationalistic in thinking and approach to issues especially one that has to do with national security.
