We're Supposed to be Appreciating An Outgoing President for Legacies; That's Not the Case Here —Sani

Senator Shehu Sani has again given his assessment of the performance of Nigeria’s outgoing President, Muhammadu Buhari as his days in office are fast winding down to a close.

The former lawmaker, who represented Kaduna Central Senatorial District in the 8th National Assembly, took to his favorite social media platform to air his verdict on the Buhari administration's performance.

His tweet summarizes that after 8 years in office as president, Buhari has not given Nigerians enough reasons to appreciate and celebrate him like other great leaders of other nations.

He wrote:

“We are by now supposed to be appreciating an outgoing President who led for 8 years & left behind a more united, peaceful, & prosperous country with a strong & diversified economy. We are supposed to compare him to Lee Kuan Yu, Mahathir, or Kagame: That is definitely not the case here.”

Expectedly, his tweet elicited reactions and comments from fellow Nigerians on the microblogging site.

The comments were mostly sarcastic quips describing the performance of the President in office. It was more like a referendum on the performance of the outgoing administration with a generous dose of humour and sarcasm.
