Despite the arrest and detention of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the proscribed secessionist group, Indigenous People of Biafra IPOB, by the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari, the southeast region has continued to be a hub for secessionist agitations that have recent, reduced the region to crisis and near anarchy.
Bearing this in mind, we have in this article, highlighted 3 ways President Buhari can end Biafra agitations in the southeast region of Nigeria:

1. President Muhammadu Buhari should engage in massive infrastructural development in the southeast region:
As we may know, one of the hallmarks of President Muhammadu Buhari's administration is its dedication to building infrastructures around the country.
In my opinion, if Buhari intentionally engages in massive infrastructural development in the southeast region, some of the unemployed young people who are used to carry out secessionist agitations will be provided with jobs Hence, they'll be more occupied in productive activities.

More so, this will create a mindset of the people, that the federal government is interested in the development of the region.
2. President Muhammadu Buhari should give the southeast region more federal appointments:
One of the arguments of pro-Biafra agitators is that the southeast region of Nigeria has been marginalized. To disrepute this argument, President Muhammadu Buhari should consider giving more federal government appointments to the southeast region.
3. Create more states in the region:
As we all know, the southeast region has the fewest number of states as compared to other geopolitical zones in the country. This has as well created a situation where the region has a lesser representation in the legislative arm of government.

As a way of pacifying this 'deficit', President Muhammadu Buhari should create one or two more states in the southeast region. This will not only increase the representatives in the Red Chambers, but it'll as well mean that more federal allocation comes into the region.
In my opinion, the points listed here are some of the grey areas that have formed the discourse for secessionist movements in the southeast. To end the Biafran agitations, therefore, President Muhammadu can look into them and see what can be done in ample time.
