This is to make sure that the administration’s amount of work put in to bring about sanity, transparency and accountability to the management of the huge amount of resources devoted to the development of the Niger Delta sub-region does not come off track.
The president has reacted to the revealing drama, which includes counter attacks and attacks between persons, institutions, and the NDDC.
The president has made explicit his strong resoluteness to get to the very root of the issue faced with the development of the Niger Delta and its peoples despite the outrageous national resources voted year after year for this singular purpose.According to the directive by President Buhari, investigative agencies and auditing firms working together with the National Assembly Committees to find a solution to the challenges in the NDDC and must begin actions in a time-bound manner and give reports to the Presidency of the actions being carried out.
President Buhari has also given a directive for early passing of knowledge and information in such a way to assist the administration to know the cause of what had gone wrong in the past and on the way forward to return the NDDC to it's initial focus of making life better for the Niger Delta people.
In a statement by Mr President, his administration has the intention to bring about fast, even and sustainable development to the Niger Delta.
He furthermore gave his bold reassurance that his administration will coordinate an obvious and accountable governance structure, not just in the NDDC but also in all institutions of the government.
Recall, that there had been complaints on why the President has been silent on the issues on ground. But the good news is that he has spoken up and given directives on what should be done.
President Buhari could be the best president Nigeria ever had since Independence. Thank you Mr President.
