How Atiku May Still Emerge as PDP Presidential Candidate in 2023

The race for who may, probably, pick the presidential ticket of the main opposition party in Nigeria, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in the 2023 presidential contest is one of the major political subjects that some prominent members of the party are currently dealing with.

The fact is that the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) needs to present a presidential candidate who is reliably popular and someone whose candidature will, surely, not lead to another round of conflict within the party.

Although, the coast is, surely, not yet clear for the former vice president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, to pick the presidential ticket of the main opposition party in the country, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in 2023, there is greater proximity that he still stand to be favored, if he is able to convinced some political classes within the opposition party, ahead of the primaries of the party.

Former vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar still stands a better chance to pick the presidential ticket of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), if he is able to politically convince the political camp of Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde in Southwest.

Interestingly, Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State is, surely, the political leader of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Southwest. The camp of Governor Seyi Makinde is more popular and prominent in the southwest than any other camp in the geopolitical zone.

Also, the fact that Governor Seyi Makinde belongs to the camp that produced the National Vice Chairman (Southwest) of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) may, kindly, assist Alhaji Atiku Abubakar to win the Southwest delegates of the party and emerge as the presidential candidate of the opposition party.

Also, former vice president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar may attract the Northwest delegates of the opposition party by wooing the support of former Governor of Kano State, Engineer Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.

The political prominence of Engineer Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso in Northwest could not be overemphasized. His influence can, probably, assist Alhaji Atiku Abubakar to emerge as the next presidential candidate of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in 2023, if his support is sought for, and earned by Alhaji Atiku.

Surely, If Alhaji Atiku Abubakar can massively gain the support of Northwest, his Northeast, Southwest and struggle to match up at the other geopolitical zones, he may surely emerge as the presidential candidate of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in 2023.
