The deputy spokesperson of the All Progressives Congress presidential campaign council, Hannatu Musawa has dismissed claims suggesting that the presidential candidate of the party, Bola Tinubu is banking on vote buying to win the presidential elections.
Addressing the issue of vote buying in an interview with Channels TV, the APC chieftain argued that Bola Tinubu is interested in winning the election without any form of vote buying.
While speaking on the issue of naira redesign, Hannatu Musawa noted that those in the Peoples Democratic Party are only in support of it, as a result of their belief that it will affect the chances of Bola Tinubu winning the election and also increase their chances of winning.
She said contrary to the belief of many that the naira redesign policy has affected the plans of the party to buy votes, the All Progressives Congress is not interested in vote buying, and that Bola Tinubu wants a clean victory.
Hannatu Musawa said "It is the PDP that is actually supporting this particular bad implementation of the policy. Even you have the apex court of the land, the Supreme Court saying we should maintain status quo, but it is the PDP that is trying to weaponize the bad situation Nigerians are going through. It is what they are banking on to win the election.
"It's been harmful for our party, there is no doubt about it. Why it is harmful for our party; people talk about vote buying, but nobody on this side of divide is talking about vote buying, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu is going to win this election hands down with or without any incentives. It is in our interest that there's no vote buying in the election, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu wants a clean victory, no one is interested in vote buying."
