Babajide kolade otitoju, a veteran journalist, while featuring on a weekly edition of the popular program “Journalists Hangout” on TVC news, blows hot on the indirect mode of primary adopted by the All progressives congress in the state, to elect the flag bearer of the party in the forthcoming election in Ondo state.
Babajide said “ the moment you are adopting an indirect mode of primary in a state, it means the incumbent Governor will definitely win the election. How can you unseat a sitting governor with an indirect primary mode, it is almost impossible. I feel sorry for the remaining aspirants, because am sure it will be an Herculean task for them to defeat Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu.
Imagine, out of the 11 aspirants it is only the incumbent Governor that want indirect mode of primary, that is to show that they want to give him a second term ticket to contest. The election is going to be a clear cut victory for Governor Akeredolu, because he has the money and power to conduct the election.
What do you make of Babajide’s opinion?
Even the direct mode of primary can we truly say that people’s vote count?
