Former senator Shehu Sani has taken to his social media page to speak concerning the people of Niger State and what they're facing both in the city and in rural villages. He says they're battling with two 'evils', one in the city and one in the villages.
He wrote "The people of Niger State live with two evils; In the rural areas, Bandits and terrorists are kidnapping and killing people on a daily basis and in the capital city Minna, urban rival armed thugs backed by politicians are audaciously unleashing evil with impunity."

Recall that in recent times there have been lots of insecurity in the state of Niger and just like some other parts of the North, thousands of people have been displaced. Also there have been reported cases of armed attacks in the city as well. This is one of the challenges the new government that's coming in would have to fight.
