The current socioeconomic situations such as insecurity, banditry, high in the price of goods and services, inflation, and so on in the country, is an indicator that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) might defeat the ruling party, the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the presidential election come 2023.
Currently, PDP is having an internal crisis almost in all the zones which is yet to be resolved and it seems the party Chairman, Prince Uche Secondus is short of ideas on how to solve these crises as he is too silent on these issues.
Unity among members is one of the things the party needs to defeat the ruling party, the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2023 presidential election. But beyond that, the party needs to take these two urgent actions.
Firstly, the party Chairman, Uche Secondus should be asked to step aside while a well-coordinated, and intelligent party stalwart or statesman should be asked to assume the position of the party chairmanship. It is doubtful if Secondus can lead the party to victory in 2023.
More so, the party galacticos such as Goodluck Jonathan, and others should call on the likes of the former Vice President of Nigeria, Atiku Abubakar, and the Ex-Senate President, Bukola Sakari to support the candidate the party will choose to run the presidential election come 2023 instead of contesting.
The party needs to speak to Atiku and Abubakar to drop their ambition of running for the presidency in 2023 knowing fully well that Nigerians need a fresh brain to govern the country rather than recycling the previous leaders.
The major question is, do Nigerians need either PDP or APC in 2023?
