President Muhammadu Buhari has wished Nigeria’s Foreign Affairs Minister Geoffrey Onyeama a quick recovery from the ravaged coronavirus.
It will be recalled that the Foreign Affairs Minister announced earlier today (Sunday) that he had tested positive for COVID-19 after taking his fourth COVID-19 test on Saturday, after feeling some signs of throat irritation.
He stated that the result returned positive, and he is now heading for isolation in a health facility, where he will receive treatment.
President Buhari tweeted in his verified Twitter handle: 'I wish @GeoffreyOnyeama speedy recovery from Covid-19. Nigeria is eternally grateful for his diligence in attracting international support to defeat the pandemic and boost the economy."
The President also acknowledged the contributions of Onyeama in his administration.
"He has been a tireless worker and strong pillar of our administration."
Onyeama is a member of the coronavirus Presidential Task Force in Nigeria.
Coronavirus cases in Nigeria have risen to 36,107 with 653 new infections, according to figures released late Saturday from the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).
Six new deaths were recorded in the West African nation, bringing the total to 778.
