President Buhari appoints ex-KASU Vice Chanchellor to an important position

President Muhammadu Buhari has appointed 7 people into the governing board of Nigerian National Merit Award (NNMA).The appointment was disclosed by the Permanent Secretary Ministry of Special Duties, Engineer Festus Daudu, on Thursday in Abuja. Two of the constituted members are fresh appointees while the other five were re-appointed.
Professor Barnabas Quirix was born on November 4 1961, in Kaura Local Government Area of Kaduna State. He did his graduate and postgraduate studies at the prestigious Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, were he studied Architecture.
He was appointed the Vice Chancellor of Kaduna State University by the late Patrick Ibrahim Yakowa, on January 24 2012, were he served for a period of 5 years.
Professor Quirix was drawn from the North-West geo-political zone, it's the tradition of the President to appoint members of the committee from each of the country's geo-political zones.
The National Merit Award was established by the federal government to reward citizens who have demonstrated academic and professional excellence for national development.
