Bandits Invade Another Northern Settlement
No fewer than ten persons were said to have been set ablaze and many others were slaughtered while ten women were abducted by bandits in Kachiwe village Sarkin Pawa ward, Munya local government area of Niger State.

The bandits, DAILY POST gathered destroyed the village during the attack on the community.
Our correspondent also learned that the bandits were able to carry out their nefarious activities due to the jamming of mobile networks in bandit-affected communities.

Taofik Gani, the Lagos PDP spokesman, made the call in response to President Muhammadu Buhari's 61st Independence Day broadcast on Friday.
“What we can do is to encourage ourselves to support the president, based on these independence day declarations. We should obey the clarion call that Nigeria belongs to us all,” said the PDP spokesman. “If it breaks, we have no other place to go. We must give the president the benefit of doubt.”
NSCDC arrests 41 suspect in Edo
The Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, Edo Command, has said no fewer than 41 suspects have been arrested for various crimes in the state in three months.

According to NAN, the NSCDC Commandant, Mr Aniekan Udoeyop, revealed this in Benin on Friday during an interview with newsmen.
He said 21 suspects were arrested for alleged illegal dealing and transportation of petroleum products.
According to him, four suspects were arrested on the same charge of illegally operating Private Guards Company (PGC).
“Also, three suspects were arrested for JAMB examination malpractice, one suspect arrested for falsification of COVID-19 result, and eight suspects for child theft,” he said.
Sea pirates abduct 3 Ghanaians, 1 Nigerian in Akwa Ibom
Armed gunmen suspected to be Sea pirates have reportedly launched fierce attacks on Akwa Ibom territorial waters, abducting four fishermen including three Ghanaians in Ibaka, in the Mbo Local Government Area of the state.

It was learnt the victims were seized just behind the Nigerian Navy Foward Operation Base (FOB) in Ibaka waterways overlooking the Gulf of Guinea.
Ogunbiyi Oluwajuwon, a lawyer representing some of the fishermen, told Newsmen in Uyo on Friday that the hoodlums attacked four separate boats and carted away their outboard engines in an operation that lasted several hours.
The kidnappers, he said, have demanded N2.5 million ramson as a condition for their release.
