Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa was a Nigerian politician who was the first and only Prime Minister of Nigeria who was born in December 1912 in modern-day Bauchi State, in the Northern Nigeria Protectorate.

His father's name was Yakubu Dan Zala and he was of Gere ethnicity while his mother's name was Fatima Inna and she was of Gere and Fulani descent.

Tafawa Balewa was very educated. He went to good schools and he was also a teacher. He was married to four women and their names are; Hajiya Aisha, Hajiya Jummai, Hajiya Laraba, Hajiya Zainab and they bore him Children.

I'll be talking about the last Surviving Wife of Tafawa Balewa and her name is Hajiya Jummai Balewa.

Hajiya Jummai Balewa was the second wife of Late Tafawa Balewa. The late Premier married her from Sokoto when she was 13 years old. Hajiya Jummai bore him right children and has many grandchildren. She gave birth to a posthumous daughter, Zainab, two weeks after her husband's death.
