Apart from Her Election As DG, See Other Way Okonjo Iweala Has Promoted The Nigerian Brand in WTO

The election of former Minister of Finance, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo- Iweala has been an all round blessing to Nigeria. Aside the fact that she was the first woman from Nigeria to be holding that position, she has also proved that something good indeed can still come out of our Nazareth.

Nigeria is one of the most underrated countries in the world owing to the poor leadership and corrupt tendencies of our political leaders.

Hence, once anybody identifies him or herself as Nigerian outside the shore of the country, the first thing that comes to mind is the level of corruption and criminal activities that have become a trend in the country. But with the like of Dr. Iweala, it is now certain that the giant of Africa is gradually taking it's place in the global community.

On Friday when the former finance Minister was to resume her office for the first time, many would have expected her to kack up in cooperate dress that would make her look like a sophisticated and westernized woman whom she really is.

But rather, she garlanded and adorned herself in Ankara attire specifically made in Nigeria. From the crown on her head to the shoe on her feet, Iweala was practically wearing Nigeria to the office on her first.

Just like her normal style while she was in government as Minister of the federal republic of Nigeria, she has continued to lift the image of the country in the international community.

She has used her style to promote the image and brand of the country without giving a damn about what other nations of the world which she is serving would say about her. This is no doub an unprecedented act of patroitism by her.

Apart from being celebrated for flying the flag of the country as the first woman to hold the coveted position, she also deserves to be honoured for promoting a Nigerian brand.
