NDDC: IJAW YOUTH LEADER BLAST PROFESSOR ITSE SAGAY, SAYS HE’S A BENEFICIARY OF CORRUPTION PROCEED
Comrade Navy T. Stephen react to the call by the Chairman, Presidential Advisory Committee against Corruption (PACAC). Professor Itse Sagay on his recent comments/call. Asking President Muhammadu Buhari to remove all the board members of the Niger Delta Development Commission while playing a guest during an interview on Channels TV. Channels today 15th July.
Comrade Navy is the President of the Ijaw Youth Must Move Forward IYMMF an Ijaw focused none- Governmental Organization NGO in the Niger Delta.
I am very surprise at Professor Itse Sagay’s call because to the best of my knowledge, he’s one of the beneficiaries of corruption proceed from the Niger Delta Development Commission NDDC before the inauguration of the Interim Management Committee IMC.
He’s part of those that was awarded jamboree contracts by previous management without project execution which was the norm before IMC.
“My view is that everybody should be removed right now. Clear the place, sweep it clean. Start afresh with a new set of people,” Prof Sir, is removing everyone the solution?
If something should be done in the commission, I am of the opinion that the IMC should be allowed to complete the ongoing forensic audit exercise. For crying out loud, the IMC is there for a very short time with a very delicate task, a task that if allowed to complete will turn things around, an assignment that will reposition the commission and expose the rots done in the commission before now. President Muhammadu Buhari mandated the IMC for this singular purpose, why all this unwarranted calls and blackmails?
What’s been play out today is a precise game plan by some set of unscrupulous individuals within the confinement of the NASS. If Nigerians could recall, the NASS was strongly against President Muhammadu Buhari’s IMC and the forensic audit exercise as proposed, they fought tooth and nail to make sure the IMC was not inaugurated but at the tail end they went and do the needful and having realized they have failed in the first half, they went for a plan B which is the alarm of foul, foul, foul as raised by their sponsored groups/individuals that gave rise to the NASS Call for probe of IMC.
Nigerians, what do you think they aim to achieve? Is to thwart Mr. President’s attempt to overhauling the Commission, to truncate Mr. President’s fight against corruption and the last but not the least, to cover for their corruption activities in the NDDC which they knew if left unattended to will no doubt expose the evil they have done to the Niger Delta and her people.
Why did the ongoing NASS Probe centered all alone in the era of the IMC and the Forensic Audit exercise period, why did they not extend it to 2015 to 2020? It’s simply because they are determined to frustrate the Forensic Audit exercise.
Professor Itse Sagay’s and his NASS cohorts should know that Nigerians cannot be fooled, we know the game they are playing and I am again calling on Mr. President to ignore them and allow the IMC to complete the Forensic Audit exercise.
