Popular Nigerian activist and politician, Omoyele Sowore shared photos of himself carrying a 2-year-old girl today. Sharing the photos, Sowore explained who the girl in the picture is, while narrating the story behind the picture and why they were both in court today.
Omoyele Sowore contested as the presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC) during the 2019 Presidential election in Nigeria.
Sowore revealed today that the 2-year-Old girl with him in the photo is the daughter of late Nigerian journalist, Alex Ogbu who was allegedly killed by police officers. He went further to narrate how the journalist was allegedly killed.
Sharing the story today Omoyele Sowore said, “A year ago today, Nigeria Police murdered journalist and human rights activist, Alex Ogbu in cold blood during a Shiites protest he was covering. We are in court to seek justice. Here with me is Alex Ogbu’s 2-year old daughter at the FCT High Court today.”
According to Sowore, today marks the first anniversary since Alex, the father of the girl with him in the picture, was killed.
