Lagos 2023: Obi And Atiku Called Me To Discuss An Alliance With Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour - Jandor

With less than 3 days to what is predicted to b the most heated governorship elections in the history of democracy in Lagos, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state, Dr. Abdul-Azeez Adediran popularly known as Jandor, has revealed that there have been moves from the Labour Party leadership to have him align with their candidate, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour ahead of the upcoming polls.

Speaking during an interview on ARISE TV's 'The Morning Show' with Rufai Oseni and Reuben Abati on Wednesday, Jandor explained that he recently received calls from the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Gregory Obi and that of the PDP, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar in a bid to convince him into joining forces with Gbadebo to defeat the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) on the ballots on Saturday.

The PDP candidate, however, revealed that he turned down the offer because he was not thoroughly convinced about the success of such an alliance.

He said; "When Peter Obi called me, yes, I met with him. My principal, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar also called me on this matter. Obi told me that "Jandor, your principal will call you, I will also call the other guy (Rhodes-Vivour), let us first discuss whether or not an alliance will work between the two of you". And I told him that I don't have an issue with an alliance.

The only problem I have is how we are going to go into that union. Because I wasn't convinced. Because we cannot afford to gamble on this thing. I have to make sure I put my best foot forward."
