Check Out The State In Nigeria That Officially Changed Its Name

The Federal Republic of Nigeria is located in the western region of the African continent. Nigeria has a population of more than 200 million people. The Federal Republic of Nigeria is divided into 36 states as well as the federal capital territory of Abuja.

According to a report by the Business Day Newspaper, the government of Osun State officially changed the name of the state from Osun State to the state of Osun. This information has also been confirmed by articles published by the Punch Newspaper and This Day Newspaper.

Channel Television reports that governor Adeleke made an effort to change the name of this state back to "Osun State" after he was sworn-in as the new governor of Osun State last year. It is important to point out that the name of the state was initially changed under the administration of former governor Rauf Aregbesola. Osun State is located in the South-West geopolitical zone of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
