Yoruba Elders Blows Hot, Gives FG 30 Days Ultimatum Read What They Want Buhari To Do

There has been so much happening in our beloved country Nigeria of late and while we gradually approach 2023 for another Presidential election, a group of Elders from the South Western part of Nigeria has advised President Muhammadu Buhari and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), to immediately suspend the 2023 election and restructuring of the 1999 constitution. But why would they be calling for that at this time?

Recall in recent past there has been call for the review of the 1999 constitution as some laws are perceived by a section of the country to be too old and unfair, hence the need to modify and restructure it.

According to Spokesman of group, under the auspices of Nigerian Indegenous Nationalities Alliance for Self-determination (NINAS), Professor Banji Akintoye, the country cannot move forward or achieve great things with the current political structure.

He said that the 1999 constitution sould be suspended, with claims that the constitution is the major problem confronting the Nation at the moment.

The group who had earlier given a 90 day notice of constitutional griviance ultimatum to the federal government late December 2020, is now giving the same government another 30 day ultimatum to suspend the constitution and future elections.

What do you make of this? Do you think this is the right step to take? What would happen is the 2023 presidential election is suspended?
