The APC is not in a position to nominate anybody; we just zoned it to a particular region-Morka

In an interview with a television news channel, the National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Felix Morka, clarified that the party is not in a position to nominate anybody for elective positions in the National Assembly.

He stated that the party had only zoned the positions to a particular region and that the nominations of former Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Godwill Akpabio, and Abbas Tajudeen were not set in stone. Morka explained that party members are free to contest elective positions, and the recommendations can still be changed.

Morka further emphasized that the party's decision to micro-zone the positions was to reduce contention, and consultations are still ongoing despite the party nomination. He highlighted that the party considered solid criteria aimed at ensuring that each region receives a fair share as principal officers of the National Assembly.

Morka also noted that individuals' aspirations for a position might blindside them to the full national interest, and the party's involvement ensures the national interest of the country benefits its citizens.
