The Ogun State Police Command has sent strong warning to Nigerians applying for the ongoing constable recruitment.
It was reported that the portal for the recruitment exercise became accessible to interested applicants on Tuesday.
In a statement on Thursday, the Ogun State Commissioner of Police, Kenneth Ebrimson, through the command's spokesperson, Abimbola Oyeyemi, warned applicants to desist from any form of inducement.
While stressing that the application is free, the police commissioner maintained that any candidate who involves in any form of monetary inducement risks disqualification, adding that such an applicant will equally be prosecuted.
“The Ogun State Police Command wishes to inform members of the public especially Ogun State indigenes that the Inspector General of Police, IGP Muhammad Adamu Abubakar, has graciously approved recruitment of suitably qualified able-bodied citizens of Nigeria into the Nigeria Police Force.
“In view of this, interested indigenes of Ogun State who are eligible are advised to respond to this advertisement within the stipulated period. Applicants must have passion for a career in the Nigeria Police Force.
“To apply, applicants should visit the portal through www.policerecruitment.gov.ng.
“The application is free and the Commissioner of Police has warned that any candidate who is involved in any form of monetary inducement will be disqualified and prosecuted," the statement read in part.
