OPINION: One Important Thing MURIC Could Be Metaphorically Saying Upon Erdogan's Visit To Nigeria

As a good leader, it is very necessary that you set an example for others to follow. It is not possible that a leader, who does not lead according to the constitutional provisions of his country, could travel to another nation to address the same issue affecting his country in a foreign Nation.

The Turkish President, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, would be arriving Nigeria today Monday, as he is expected to sign some business deals with President Muhammadu Buhari, an Islamic group, known as the Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC), has issued a stern warning to the Turkish President, telling him to stop prosecuting opposition leaders back home in Turkey.

The Muslim Rights group, in a statement signed by its Director, Professor Ishaq Akintola, berated Erdogan of arbitrary arrest, political killings, torture and long-term improvement of opposition figures and critics, particularly members of the Hizmet Movement.

Due to my observation, it may be that the MURIC group could be passing a metaphorical message that Erdogan's visit to Nigeria is sour-tasting in the mouth because of his alleged undemocratic and tyrannical practices in his own country. Just as it was said, 'you can not give what you don't have'. The Islamic group is trying to pass a very vital information to the world that as a leader, it is mandatory that you address the issue in your own nation before trying to address the issue of other Nations.

In my opinion, if indeed the Turkish President is a partaker to the above stated allegations, it is very important for the president to amend his pattern of administration as it could lead to disintegration.
