As the 2023 Governorship Polls is fast approaching, Political office holders have been reaching out to their Loyalists in their various States to Prepare for the next Polls. However, Some Northern Governors may be finding it difficult to win their second term Governorship Polls due to the kind of relationship they have with their Leaders in their various states. The rifts between some Governors and their Leaders in their various states may disturb the Governors from winning their second term Governorship Polls.
One of the Northern Governor that may find it difficult to win his second term as Governor of his state, is the Governor of Kwara State, Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq. The Governor may be finding it difficult to win the forthcoming Governorship Polls due his relationship with the Minister of Information, Alhaji Lai Mohammed. It should be recalled that both Lai Mohammed and the Governor are not in good terms.
The faction belonging to Alhaji Lai Mohammed faction, complained of being marginalised in the Party. While Some Members of the Party, have also defected to another Party. Though, Lai Mohammed may not dump APC for anyother Party, because of his Position in the Party but he may not work for the success of the Governor in the forthcoming Governorship Polls. The Crisis between the Governor and Alhaji Lai Mohammed may lead to the failure of the Party, in the forthcoming Governorship Polls in Kwara State, if the Leaders could not find lasting solution to the Problems.
Another Northern Governor that may also finds it difficult to win his Second term in office, is Zamfara State Governor, Bello Matawalle. It should be recalled that Governor Matawalle won the last Governorship Polls under the Platform of Peoples Democratic Party PDP but he recently dumped the Party for APC. However, Governor Matawalle is having issues with the former Governor of the State, Abdul'aziz Yari.
Governor Matawalle and the former Governor of the State, Abdul'aziz Yari are fighting each other over the Leadership of the Party in the State. Though, The National Executives of the Party recognised Bello Matawalle as the overall Leader of the Party, in the State but Yari and his Loyalists don't recognise Governor Matawalle, as the Leader of the Party. However, If the Party Leaders could not settle the Crisis in the Party, Governor Matawalle may not be able to win his Second term as Governor of the State because Yari and his loyalists, may work against him.
