PDP Governors finally react, reveals position on Electronic Transmission of Election Results

The Peoples Democratic Party Governors' Forum has finally responded to the issue surrounding the Senate's rejection of electronic transmission of election results.

The governors, according to the Daily Trust, insisted that the National Assembly must authorize electronic transmission of election results.

The speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, stated that the intended electronic transmission of election results was not yet possible in Nigeria.

The governor of Sokoto state also urged the National Assembly to include electronic transmission of election results in the country's electoral law.

Governor Tambuwal praised the House leadership and members for inviting INEC to speak to the House and the public on its readiness to implement electronic transmission technology for the country's elections by 2023.

According to PM News, the Senate was also chastised for approving conditional electronic transmission of election results following the country's elections.

The organization warned the red chamber of the National Assembly not to "Bring Nigeria's democracy to the dirt," claiming that electronic transmission of election results is a global standard.
