Bashar Abubakar, the special assistant to the senator on media, in a statement in Abuja on Tuesday said the lawmaker described the attack as barbaric and ruthless.
Wamakko who is a former governor of Sokoto State, also said, “No religion allows the killing of innocent people.
The senator extended his condolences to the people of Goronyo Local Government Area, the families of the victims and the entire Sokoto State.
Wamakko added, "God will not allow this vicious practice to continue to destroy the people of Sokoto State."
He asked the almighty Allah to forgive the dead and expose the killers of those innocent people.
Mr. Wamakko also urged the people of the state to continue to pray to God to provide a cure for these heinous acts of terrorism.
