Ideato South is a Local Government Area of Imo State, Nigeria. Dikenafi headquarters all the communities in Ideato south. From all indication,the dreaded orashi River is originated from there.
Ideato South has it's area as 88 km² and has a population of 159,879 as about 2006 census.
Currently, There are twenty-three autonomous communities in Ideato-South LGA. These communities includes.Nneato OgwugwuI Isiekenesi Dikenafai, Dimagu, Okohia and Umuaghobe autonomous communities. Others are Awalla, Umuakam, Umuago, Umuobom Umuezedike Duruahurunwa, Umucheke, Umumaisiaku, Amanator,
Umueshi , Ntueke, Okohia, Umuchima, Ugbelle, Umulewe and Ogwume, Umuezealla-Ogboko and Ogboko autonomous community.
Ideato south is located in Orlu senatoral district. The senator representing Orlu zone Sen. Rochas Okorocha also hails from this lock government.
Passing recently through that area, precisely ogboko. There is this terrible gully eating deep down the soils of the community. The bridge of Orashi also has delapidated due to erosion rampange.
We call on the current government of imo state to come to the rescue of these villagers.
