The Appeal Court in Abuja upheld Bola Ahmed Tinubu's eligibility to compete in the 2023 election despite Atiku Abubakar, the PDP's presidential nominee, challenging Tinubu's eligibility. Because Kashim Shettima, Tinubu's running mate, allegedly competed for two elected positions, Atiku Abubakar, as you may recall, filed a complaint, casting doubt on Tinubu's eligibility.
Atiku Abubakar's spokesman, Daniel Bwala, commented upon the court's decision to dismiss his complaint against Shettima and Tinubu. Daniel Bwala posted a crying emoji to his Twitter page. In a statement he sent out, he recited the Nigerian pledge and expressed his disappointment with the court's decision from today.
Thus, only three days before Tinubu was supposed to be sworn in, the Appeal court maintained his eligibility.
