The quest for who becomes Nigeria's president in 2023 is still ongoing. Different names have been mentioned as possible presidential candidate. Names like Bola Tinubu, the Jagaban of Lagos, Seyi Makinde, Kayode Fayemi and Yahaya Bello has been lined up as possible candidates from the South West region.
Some people have pitted their tents on a possible return of former president, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan. While Nyesom Wike, Kingsley Moghalu, Obi Ezekwesili, Peter Obi, Rotimi Amaechi are possibly forces to reckon with in the South Eastern and South-South region. Going down the Northern region, there are many possible candidates with former vice president, Atiku Abubakar looking more like the favorite from that zone. Other possible names from the Northern region are Ahmad Nasir El-Rufai, Musa Kwankwaso, Wamakko, Ibrahim Ganduje and Tambuwal.
However, Rotimi Amaechi in an interview with Channels Television yesterday has broken silence with issues regarding the 2023 general election. While some faction are calling for a power rotation, others are calling for restructuring.
“I am still the Minister for Transportation and only God can tell who will be the President of Nigeria in 2023.”
The former Rivers State governor when asked about his ambition for 2023 and who he thinks would become President Muhammadu Buhari's successor in 2023, made it known that it's only God who knows who that person would be.
