Bayelsa Lawmaker Built, Handover New House To 91 Years Old Woman

The joy of the 91 years old woman popularly called Mama Lovina knew no bounds as she was given a new apartment to live in.

The member representing Yenagoa State Constituency I, in the Bayelsa State House of Assembly, Hon. Oforji Oboku, in one of his philanthropic gestures, erected a brand new property for the woman.

Addressing the gathering, the lawmaker said "Today, I was at Famgbe community to formally handover the keys of Mama house to her.

"As a son, I had to join mama at the dining table to dine with her and her children and relations.

"The joy I saw in her was heartwarming and fulfilling and, as a person, I am happy that I beamed her face with smile and happiness.

"Reflectively, I visited mama on the 2nd of April this year, when I heard of the havoc that befell her mud building and on that day, I promised mama a new house within three weeks of which, I did completed the building before the three weeks.

"Today, with all humility and joy in me, I gladly opened the well furnished building for her usage. To God be all the glory".

Also speaking, the immediate past president, Ijaw Youth Council (IYC), Pereotubo Oweilaemi Esq., who was pleased with the lawmaker said, "Hon. Oforji Oboku of Bayelsa State House of Assembly has written his name in gold".

The building was constructed within the range of 14 days as his gesture has attracted more accolades across borders.

"For the records, Hon Oforji built a brand new building for mama Lovina within two weeks.

"Hon, this your singular gesture has extended the life span of our dear mother.

"As it is said in the Bible, he who takes care of the aged shall receive blessings straight from heaven. May God continually bless your hands my brother".

While Congratulating mama for her new apartment, Oweilaemi, promised to join her soon to felicitate with her as soon as the ravaging Coronavirus pandemic was over.

"Enjoy your new house. I will have dinner with you the next time I am in Yenagoa after the ravaging covid 19 has subsided", he said.
