Tinubu's Rivers Victory: Professor Adias Said Tampering Of Results Happened At Poling Units – Sambo

A political analyst, Sumner Sambo, has reacted to the report by BBC that the results of the February 25, 2023 Presidential election in Rivers State were tampered with; after he recounted how the Collation Officer of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in the State, Professor Charles Adias, had earlier revealed that results were authored at polling units before they were brought back to the Collation Centre.

Sambo had said, "During the election period, Professor Adias, who was the State Chief Collation Officer for the Presidential election, had raised the issue and said that look, there was even a threat to his own life because of the allegations that he had manipulated the election; but he said, ‘no’, tampering of election results actually happened at the polling units."

Sambo, who spoke during an interview on Arise Television, maintained that the findings of BCC that the results of the February 25, 2023 Presidential election in Rivers were authored by some elements, were not new developments. He recounted how Professor Adias had earlier, during the collation, revealed that the results were tampered with. He recounted how the INEC Official sought that the results be reviewed before the declaration of the winner.

Sambo insisted that there is proof that Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu of the All Progressive Congress (APC), did not win the contest in Rivers State. He, however, maintained that aggrieved political parties would have to prove to the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal that there were electoral malpractices during the contest.
