Rivers state Governor, Mr Nyeson Wike has been reportedly seen in a demolition scene in Eleme local Government area of the state. The Demolition of the Hotels was said to have been due to violation of lockdown order to contain the spread of Coronavirus in the state.
The news which was posted by Sahara repoters on Sunday 10th May, 2020 reads "Rivers state Governor, Nyeson Wike oversees Demolition of Hotels, Bars and others in Eleme LGA for violating COVID-19 lockdown order".
There has been mixed reactions to the tweet above as many commenters think the Governor could have given another punishment rather than demolishing people's source of livelihood and thereby increasing the poverty rate in the state.
Some others are of the opinion that Governor Wike's actions is best suitable for Nigerians as many of them will never heed to instructions if not forced.
A particular commenter named Ada of Peace on Twitter said "Nice one People should learn to listen".
She continued by saying " why will they open in the first place, which business are they running by this time, who is booking hotel by this time, Is that not stupidity even in the lockdown people are still running hotel".
Silvestri replied Ada of Peace saying, "If someone do this to your property, hope you wouldn't complain?". He continued by saying "why not seal the place and fine the owner between 5 - 10 million" reacted silvestri.
Another commenter gives reason while Governor Wike had to demolish the hotels.
