NPower Volunteers Reject GEEP Loan and Seek for Permanency as Buhari's Minister reveal Exit package

The FG decision to disengage batch A and B volunteers of the Npower program stands as not fewer than 500,000 volunteers have been disengaged.

The Hon minister of the Federal ministry of Finance, Budget and National Planning Mrs Zainab Ahmed confirmed the disengagement of the Batch A and B while speaking on Nigeria Economic Sustainability on Monday morning on NTA Abuja.

Commenting on the exit plan of the Npower Batch A and B volunteers she disclosed that the exit package will be A GEEP LOAN.

According to her the loan will range from the sum of 100,000 to 300,000 depending on the volunteer's performances in the said Psychometric test.

The news was confirmed on the official Twitter handle of the Federal ministry of Finance, Budget and National Planning yesterday.

Reacting to the said exit package, the N-Power Beneficiaries kick against GEEP Loan, and seek for permanent engagement.

The five hundred thousand (500,000) disengaged beneficiaries have begged the Federal Government for a permanent employment.

They also kicked against the GEEP loan the FG has prepared for them as exit package, as they saying there should be no need for them to undergo Psychometric test before accessing the GEEP loan.

One of the volunteers which I contacted said GEEP LOAN is not a good option for them permanency is all they want, he said "If we are to go by GEEP LOAN, most of us will never have the opportunity of gaining employment again because of our age,"

In disagreement with the Federal Government decision, the Npower beneficiaries have taken to different social media platforms to protest against the plan to offer them GEEP LOAN as an exit package instead of permanent jobs.

Take a look at these posts by some of the Batch A and B volunteers;

One of the beneficiaries who is identified as Salisu Ibrahim Muhammad posted in an Npower facebook group that "Permanent job is our dream not GEEP Loan." see post below;

Another beneficiary posted that; " Exit package should be a luxury grant not a loan"

Different reactions were gathered by an online source, see reactions below;

Obviously the Npower volunteers have shown that they are not in any way supporting the idea of GEEP loan as their exit package, all they want is permanent jobs.

Now what is your take? PERMANENCY OR GEEP LOAN?
