As the 2023 presidential election draws closer, political players in different political parties who have the ambition to contest for the election are working underground to achieve their goals.
There have been agitations over the zone that will produce the next president of the country. While the south wants the presidency to be zoned to their region, their northern counterparts have rejected the call and described it as unconstitutional.
The ruling All Progressives has not decided on the zone that will produce the presidential ticket of the party. Politicians from all the regions who have the ambition to fly the flag of the party are already working underground because the ruling party may likely throw its presidential ticket open.

Some influential politicians from the northern and southern region on the platform of the All Progressives Congress have been tipped to emerge as the presidential candidate of the party in 2023.
However, available indicators have shown that the former Governor of Lagos State and National Leaders of APC, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, may likely defeat northern cabals to emerge as APC standard-bearer in 2023 because of two reasons.

His Political influence And Early Mobilisation
One of the things that may likely help Tinubu to defeat northern cabals and grab the presidential ticket of APC in 2023 is his political influence across the country.
It would be easy for Tinubu who hails from the southern region to grab the APC presidential ticket because of his influence and the strength of his mobilization team.

Recall that Tinubu's mobilization group, the South West Agenda for Asiwaju (SWAGA) has already been launched by his loyalists in some states. The group is currently working for the actualization of Tinubu's emergence as APC presidential candidate in 2023.
It is believed that some northern politicians on the platform of APC have presidential ambition ahead of 2023, but only Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State has indicated his interest in the presidential position.
The early preparation of Tinubu may likely help him to defeat the northern politicians to fly the flag of the ruling party.

Endorsement By Northern Reps
The recent endorsement by the members of the House of Representatives from the northern region is another thing that may likely work for Tinubu to grab APC presidential ticket.
Remember that the House of Representatives members from the north visited Tinubu when he was still in London and endorsed him for the 2023 presidency.

A report by PUNCH had explained that the northern House of Representatives members were led by the Deputy Speaker, Ahmed Wase, and threw their weights behind Tinubu for the 2023 presidency.
The members of the House of Representatives in the northern region that endorsed Tinubu has political loyalists who will be participating as delegates for the APC presidential primaries. This may likely make it easy for Tinubu to grab the APC ticket.
