Razaq Abubakre, an emeritus Professor and former federal Commissioner, says the Labour Party, LP, presidential candidate Mr Peter Obi couldn’t have beaten President-elect Sen. Bola Tinubu at the last presidential election.
Abubakre, also a former Vice Chancellor of Al-Hikmah University Ilorin, spoke with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja on Friday.
The technocrat claimed that Obi’s lacklustre performance as former Governor of Anambra State worked against him.
Abubakre said that Obi’s inability to build leaders, unlike Tinubu, who has inspired several leaders nationally and internationally, was part of his undoing.
He further stated that the allegation against Obi in some sections of the media, where he was accused of practising tribal jingoism during his governorship tenure against non-Igbo speaking people, was part of his albatross.
“Some of his activities, performance and attitude in synchrony to those of some of his followers, the ‘Obidients’, reveal their latent parts.

The leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, on Friday revealed that the relationship between the All Progressives Congress, APC, and Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State would not last.
Primate Ayodele said the cabals in the incoming government of the APC would fight Wike.
In a statement by his Media Aide, Oluwatosin Osho, Ayodele explained that the governor would be made to pay dearly for some of his actions in recent times.
The man of God made it known that after the inauguration of the incoming administration of the President-elect, Bola Tinubu on May 29, several things will change, adding that those who expect to have the lion’s share may end up not getting anything because appointments will break the ruling party.
According to Ayodele: “Wike’s relationship with APC will not last. Cabals will fight him mercilessly, and he will be made to pay dearly, but he will not understand now. APC will teach him a big lesson, including other PDP defectors.

He said, “It’s normal for a government to inherit projects. We inherited some and completed them; and as a government we are leaving some projects for the incoming administration. Only God knows to which government I will transmit power, whether APC or NNPP.”
Recall that the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC declared the candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP, Yusuf Abba Kabir, as the winner of the Kano governorship election.
The ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, has disputed the results and dragged INEC and NNPP to court over the declaration of Yusuf of the New Nigeria People Party, NNPP as the governor-elect.
