In Nothing less than 3 years from now, the people of Zamfara State will be experiencing another Governorship Election as they will come out to cast their votes.
Top Politicians in the state have begun making moves to give the Incumbent Governor Bello Matawalle a tough fight in 2023.
Notable among them are:
(1) Saidu Dansadau
The 67 years old Nigerian Politician was elected as a Senator to represent the Zamfara Central Constituency.
(2) Dr. Sani Abdullahi Shinkafi
He was the National Secretary of the All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA.
He was appointed as the Honorary Special Adviser on Inter-governmental affairs by the Incumbent Governor Bello Matawalle.
(3) Mahmud Shinkafi
He previously served as the Governor of Zamfara State in 2007. He was elected under the platform of All Nigeria People's Party, ANPP.
He is now a member of All Progressive Congress, APC.
He was announced winner as the Governor of Zamfara State, having contested under the platform of All Progressive Congress, APC but 5 days after his inauguration, the supreme Court annulled the Election and instead declared Bello Matawalle, who was the first runner up as the Governor of Zamfara State.
He will stage a comeback in 2023.
