Why Is It Difficult For The Family Members Of Alleged Lekki Massacre To Speak Up?

Punch reports, Minister of Information Lai Mohammed has faulted the leaked report of the Judicial Panel of Inquiry on Restitution for Victims of SARS Related Abuses and Other Matters. At a press conference in Abuja on Tuesday, the minister queried the report, pointing out 10 loopholes. The minister said;

“Without mincing words, let me say that never in the history of any Judicial Panel in this country has its report been riddled with so many errors, inconsistencies, discrepancies, speculations, innuendoes, omissions, and conclusions that are not supported by evidence. What is circulating in public space is simply a rehash of the unverified fake news that has been playing on social media since the incident of October 20, 2020,” he added.

The Minister also asked the families of the alleged people that were massacred that day should speak up. In all honesty, the Minister is right, many Nigerians don't see anything wrong with his questions of the report, at least when the dreaded Shekau was killed, the mother cried out, why is difficult for parents and family members of a whole massacred people not speaking out?

Nigerians need to know them so that they can genuinely sympathize with them. Not only that those victims in the report had no families but some had no surname. There's no way any objective mind will read that report and not feel insulted. Before you say or believe anything just go and read the report. That report is close to being trash. To date, no family member comes out to claim that their loved ones have died in lekki toll gate.

Is It all about audio killing and cheap propaganda especially from some people who want to push certain narratives? So many Nigerians are with the honorable minister and the truth is just bitter. Many Nigerians had expected the judicial panel of inquiry to put out a picture board with the names of all those who were killed at the alleged Lekki toll gate massacre to put an end to this argument as it is done in other countries where such incidences had happened? We can not all the time dwell on emotional sympathy in matters like this, let the panel do the right thing to put an end to this matter.
