Recall that after the election, Kwankwaso got many votes in Kano State, and when some PDP members were talking, they alleged that Kwankwaso, who was the presidential candidate of the New Nigeria People's Democratic, ruined Atiku Abubakar's ambition.
However, during the interview with Trust correspondent, Hanga was told that his presidential candidate, Kwankwaso, was also in the race and he made a good outing, especially in Kano State but, there is this allegation from the PDP that he scuttled the chances of Atiku Abubakar. Hanga reacting to this said that, the allegation is not true because, it was Atiku Abubakar that willingly scuttled his own chances.
He said, "No, Atiku Abubakar scuttled his chances. That is what I want to believe. Atiku scuttled his chances himself, not Kwankwaso. Let me tell you this, we are after a very competent, credible and trusted person. Somebody who has done it. Somebody who people believe he can do that again."
When he was asked who the person his, Hanga said it is Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso.
He said, "He is better than Atiku. That is my conviction. Yes, he is better than Atiku."
