It Should Be On Record That This National Assembly Is Complicit - Shehu Sani Laments

It was reported yesterday that the Senate approved President Muhammadu Buhari's $16 billion loan request. This recent loan approval has caused a lot of Nigerians to react differently.

Based on that note, the former senator that represented the good people of Kaduna Central Senatorial Zone, Senator Shehu Sani decided to speak.

According to a recent tweet he made on his verified twitter handle, the former lawmaker stated it clearly that it should be on record that this present National Assembly is complicit in allowing the President to pile up heavy debts for the nation, within the shortest period of time.

It should recalled that before President Buhari came to power in the year 2015, Nigeria's foreign debt was below $15 billion, but as it stands now, Nigeria's foreign debt has risen to over $30 billion.

I really don't think that this is the way forward. The federal government must do the needful so as to generate revenue internally, instead of borrowing money up and down. Things must be done properly in Nigeria if we must move forward as a country.
