More Nigerians Have Become 'Biafrans' Under President Muhammadu Buhari - Atiku

Former Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, has said more Nigerians are becoming “Biafrans” under the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari.

Atiku made the remark while lamenting that the Buhari-led government has failed to heed the call for restructuring of Nigeria.

Speaking in Abuja on Thursday, the former Vice President also accused the Buhari-led government of failing to respect the constitutional provisions on federal character.

The Aare Onakakanfo of Yorubaland, Iba Gani Adams, had said that the South-West region had paid about N3billion as ransom to kidnappers in the last two years.

According to Tribune, Adams stated this on Thursday at the South-West Security Stakeholders’ Conference organised by the South West Security Stakeholders’ Group, with the theme” “Stemming the tide of insecurity in South-West Nigeria: A Criminology Therapy,” held in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital.

He disclosed that no fewer than 200 lives were lost as a result of insecurity in the region in the years under review.

Adams noted that if the leaders fail to act on the development, the region may record the same incident being experienced in the Northern part of the country.

Gov. Wike signs anti-open grazing, four other bills into law

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, on Thursday, signed five bills recently passed by the State House of Assembly into law.

The bill include, the Valued Added Tax Law No. 4 of 2021; The Open Rearing and Grazing Prohibition Law No 5 of 2021; The Child’s Rights Amendment Law No 2 of 2021; The Residents Registration Agency Law No 6 of 2021 and the Naming and Renaming of Infrastructure Law No3 of 2021.
