On Monday, the National Bureau of Statistics revealed that over 23 Million Nigerians are unemployed. The report triggered a lot of reactions from Nigerians as they classified it as wickedness from the government.
A man identified as Henry Shield, not long ago, took to his Twitter account and reacted to the unemployment rate. He said with the unemployment rate in Nigeria, why are people still revalidating their membership for the ruling Political Party in the country.
He also imagined the level of uselessness it takes to produce the highest unemployment rate in Nigeria history.
He wrote:
"The level of uselessness it takes to produce the highest unemployment rate in Nigeria’s history. Question is, why are people still revalidating their membership of this Party?"
Recall that the All Progressives Congress (APC) embarked on a membership revalidation exercise across the country in February. Members who got revalidated shared pictures online and also flaunted their membership cards.
However, social media users who came across the tweet dropped by Henry Shield reacted and aired their respective opinions. Those who commented stated that most people who revalidated their membership did it for their selfishness and the little things they benefit from politicians.
Others alleged that the ongoing revalidation exercise shows that majority are not ready to have a working Nigeria. They said some persons are only interested in what benefits them. See more reactions below.
What do you have to say concerning the tweet dropped by Henry Shield? Do you think it is necessary to revalidate membership judging from the rate of unemployment in the country? Kindly use the comment box and air your views.
