N100bn Not Enough To Conduct 2023 Polls In The General Elections– INEC Reveals.

The Independent Electoral Commission, INEC has stated that the N100bn mapped out for the 2023 general election will be inadequate to carry the election. He went further to outline some factors that requires money.

The INEC Chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu expressed this, on Friday, when he showed up before the Senate Committee on INEC to safeguard the commission's 2022 spending plan gauges. 

He said while N189bn was appropriated for the 2019 General Elections, that of the 2023 couldn't be N100bn as it were. 

As indicated by him, the N100bn was the primary tranche for the 2023 general races while N40bn was the commission's yearly monetary designation. 

Prof Yakubu stated;

"We are as of now in contact with the Federal Ministry of Finance on the extra prerequisites for the 2023 general elections. 

"Possibly we go to the National Assembly to protect the spending plan before the council or we would do what we did in 2019 when the leader just presented the proposition to the National Assembly and we came to safeguard it.

He concluded by saying;

"I don't know if it would be sufficient.
