Why Obasanjo is always against Yoruba Presidency - Gen. Akinrinade

Olusegun Obasanjo has always opposed a Yoruba president, according to former Chief of Defence Staff General Alani Akinrinade (Retd), since he does not feel at ease with his people. In an interview with the New Telegraph, Akinrinade stated that there have been claims that Obasanjo had no connections to Yorubaland.

If he believes otherwise, he should undergo a DNA test to see whether he is a Yoruba man; if not, he should visit his relatives in other countries.

"Obasanjo doesn't seem at all comfortable with his Yoruba people, in my opinion. I say this because he frequently features in these catastrophes, whether it is with the late Chief Obafemi Awolowo, Moshood Abiola, or present-day Bola Tinubu "He said. As reported by p.m. News.

In response to Obasanjo's request to delay the presidential election because of a host of issues, Akinrinade said that Obasanjo is being cunned by asserting that "We have previously traveled this path. If I were to tell you, he was the one who organized the prior one. If he wants to sue me, let him.
