The senate-house of Representatives, the red chamber comprises 109 members. The leader of the house who is, referred to as the Senate President is Ahmed Ibrahim Lawan.
The deputy president is Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, the majority leader of the house is Senator Abdullahi Yahaya, and the minority leader of the house is Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe.
The main functions of the senate-house are
1. Decide matters of national interest.
2. Scrutinizes the executive government.
3. Represent the interest of the people in their various states.
But with what is going on in Nigeria, one might think that the senate-house is not performing its duties.
But some senates are still airing their view just like senator Enyinnaya Abaribe Who at one point in time represent the interest of his people that voted him there.
